Pitch 1

The first pitch was to rent a music studios in london .This idea was presented to Mrs Mc Cluckie and after telling her the idea of a band performing in a studio she agreed it was a good idea. The venue would supply any instruments we needed and also had lighting. But things never go to plan click here to see what happened i went to film at this place.

The video above is the venue of another band and it convinced us that we could make a video just like it .

Music Video Feedback

Feedback

One of the lessons i missed the classed viewed each others videos . They then wrote notes while viewing to give each other constructive criticism on how the rough cuts could be improved. The feedback we got was mainly positive and we was very happy with the comments we got back. Using the viewing was a good way for us and everybody else to improve their videos because it will tell you if the viewer can understand the image your trying to put across.

Our Feedback

Music and instruments are in time
short frames?
quicker cuts?
overall-good

Good opening
not sure about 1.44
really nicely edited
3.00 guitar solo should be more obvious
better ending needed

Good start of filming before guitars
guitar solo slightly out of time
like close-ups of singer
like camera movements when its handheld
shots of drummer above look wicked
its all really exciting
so well timed
SO GOOD

Start good in time with music
singing at start a bit out of sync
close ups are good
setting suits song
its so good!

Handheld camera is I think a bit too shakey at the beginning
the miming is bang on time :)
The close up when he is singing is very good
the handheld camera makes i very personal
can be a bit repetitive of guitar close ups
think the editing could be tighter at the end as it gets faster
love the angles of singers face

The most positve note we got was the video has a good use of angles and cuts making the video flow, the video was perfectly timed with the song which can be hard to do. Things which needed to be worked on were a cleaner end to the song , quicker cuts and more variety of close ups.

locations

The 3rd location was a hall in Eltham which Sarah rented out and filmed at .The place was cheap to rent but the problem was when looking at the footage the lighting was wrong and it just didn't fit the song.

The final location choice was a pub in Gravesend called The Red Lion , this place i believe was the best place to film because we had lights already installed and we had a fully functional stage to use for our video. The best part about this location was the fact it was cheap to hire compared to the first two ideas (Resident studios and a car park ) and it has the best band performance facilities.

Pitch 2

The Second pitch we presented to our teacher was to film our video in a car park, we realised after speaking to Mrs Mc Cluckie that this was not a smart idea. First being we would need permission to film in the premises, then if we need artificial light we would have no plugs to use , unless we had a generator which we don't .So we thought of places to film where it was one location and had all the requirements we needed.

Requirements:

- Relates the the band.
- Has a source of power.
- Easy to light
-Good for filming purposes (where people don't interfere)

Locations

The second location idea a underground car park.We liked this idea because it was very remote an thought it be good setting to film in .

The car park would be a good setting because you can use the spotlights and it would be remote at certain times

making it easy to film .

Locations

At this current point our group are deciding locations to film at. This is important because a location will set the mood, genre and image to the band.

The first location idea was to use an actual recording studio to film in. I searched on the internet for affordable premises to rent out and came across resident studios .I chose this location because the band could perform the track as if they're recording it.The premises would have state or the art equipment to use and provide the bands image. The recording studio is where all the bands hard work and time going into , so i thought use this location to reflect this and let them perform their song.
