Teddy Picker , Artic Monkeys

The song refers to the popularity of celebrities. A 'teddy picker' is Northern slang for a crane machine, a popular machine at carnivals where prizes, particularly stuffed animals, are picked by a mechanical crane. The song equates a person getting noticed as a celebrity with a prize being picked up by a crane-a result of luck. The music is very upbeat with the mise en scene conveying humour throughout about the hate for fame hungry people aka teddy pickers.

The first 20 seconds the viewer hears diegetic sound of the band , music engineer speaking and the group plugin in their equipment e.g feedback from a guitar. On the left is a medium longshot of the band being relaxed having a laugh.Lighting used in ambient lighting , high angle showing like a window for viewer to create the effect that their standing there.

Below on the left is a cut of one of the close ups showing the lead singer playing the riffs which adds to the performance and makes the song flow.

The slide above we see a low angle mid shot of the lead singer portraying humor with a dance move to making a fool of himself, the could relate to the message of fame hungry people doing what they are told for fame and wealth. The slide below is a close up , which shows the expression to enhance the message from the performance " desperation to be seen " meaning the wannabe celebs will do anything.

To create the effect of amplitude to the base guitar the camera shows two quick cuts of the recording studios mixing desk equipment , this goes well with the music because the top left slide goes with beat and the top right slide shows the sound levels getting risen , which
